Curriculum Coach
Job Function To provide guidance in the development and implementation of a strong instructional program designed to move all students to proficient/distinguished levels. Immediate Supervisor / Evaluator: School Principal RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL SCHOOL PERSONNEL: 1. All KCPS employees will contribute to and be accountable for the success of our students and school system as demonstrated through the performance of their duties. 2. All KCPS employees will constantly exhibit a spirit of cooperation and compassion as we work together to serve our students, parents, community, and one another. 3. All KCPS employees will make decisions and take action based on what is best for students and the school system. 4. All KCPS employees will support the district’s mission and vision of preparing students to be college/career ready upon graduation from high school through their teaching, mentoring, and day to day interactions with students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists with curriculum development, alignment, mapping, and revision. 2. Works with teachers in all content areas on skills needed to prepare students to be successful on assessments. 3. Assists staff with the use of core content, Common Core Standards, and the adopted curriculum of the school district. 4. Provides professional development to teachers during planning, through coteaching, and after school. Page 2 of 3 5. Engages staff in intensive data analysis and results planning and develops strategies designed to move students from Novice/Apprentice to Proficient/Distinguished levels. 6. Works collaboratively with other educators to integrate educational initiatives and resources. 7. Models a variety of instructional strategies designed to be rigorous and mirror assessment. 8. Coaches and models based on research based instructional strategies. 9. Ensures district timelines are met specific to the role of Curriculum and Instructional Coach. 10.Develops tools for monitoring the effectiveness of instructional programs in the school. 11. Performs other duties as assigned within Federal and State guidelines. 12.Perform additional duties/tasks and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor and/or Superintendent. PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing and reaching • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Minimum of five (5) years of professional teaching experience • Masters Degree in Education • Minimum of two (2) years experience as a successful leader in instruction, curriculum, and assessment (examples include serving as Department Chair, participation in District committee work, serving as a KTIP resource teacher, SBDM member, etc.) LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS • Valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate • Supervisor of Instruction or Consultant Certificate
